PERSONAL JOURNEY
Dr Sasha Hall is an award-winning, HCPC-registered Senior Educational Psychologist with around 20 years’ experience working with children, young people, families and education settings. She is the Founder and Lead Practitioner of Hall & Co Educational Psychology Services and works across London and Essex, alongside her national and international work as an educational psychology expert, keynote speaker, writer and media commentator.
Dr Hall’s career began in the early years, following her degree in Psychological Sciences (Psychology with Neuroscience) at the University of Westminster. She subsequently completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Education at London Metropolitan University, specialising in Early Years and Primary Education, and worked as a qualified teacher after beginning her career as a nursery nurse. Her early professional experience also included work within a special school, where she developed a particular interest in early childhood development, autism and supporting children with additional needs.
Alongside her work in education, Dr Hall undertook further training in counselling and youth mentoring before being selected to undertake the Professional Doctorate in Education and Child Psychology at the University of East London. She completed the doctorate in 2013 and has worked within Local Authority Educational Psychology Services since 2010, becoming a Senior Educational Psychologist in 2019.
Throughout her career, Dr Hall has combined direct psychological work with children and families with wider work supporting professionals and improving educational practice. She has worked closely with doctoral training programmes as a Fieldwork Tutor to Trainee Educational Psychologists and has delivered university-level teaching on areas including Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and SEND appeals.
Dr Hall is also a Lead Visitor for the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), contributing to the quality assurance of professional education and assessing whether programmes meet the required professional and regulatory standards. Dr Hall’s role as an HCPC Lead Visitor is separate from her independent professional practice and media work. Alongside her professional work, Dr Hall is a mother and has a particular interest in the realities of raising young children in today’s world. Her approach brings together psychological theory, educational experience and an understanding of everyday family life, with a particular interest in relationships, attachment, play, development and children’s behaviour.
Dr Hall is also an established national media commentator and writer. She regularly provides expert psychological commentary on parenting, child development, education and children’s behaviour and has been featured across national and international media. She is also a national keynote speaker and works with organisations and brands seeking credible, evidence-informed expertise on children, families, parenting and education.

Areas of Expertise
Dr Hall is a Senior Educational Psychologist with experience supporting children and young people from birth to 25, with a particular professional interest in early childhood and the early years, from birth to seven.
Her work is particularly focused on understanding children’s development within the context of their relationships, environments and experiences. She has specialist interests in autism and social communication differences, neurodevelopment, early identification of additional needs, children’s behaviour and emotional development, attachment and relationships, play and early childhood development.
Dr Hall is particularly interested in understanding what may sit underneath children’s behaviour, rather than viewing behaviour in isolation. Her work considers the interaction between the child, their developmental profile, relationships, family environment and educational setting, with a strong emphasis on psychologically informed and inclusive practice.
She works collaboratively with parents, nurseries and schools to support understanding of children’s individual differences and to develop environments that enable children to participate, communicate, learn and develop.

Alongside her Educational Psychology practice, Dr Hall has developed a particular professional interest in attachment-informed approaches to children’s behaviour, parenting in the early years, play, boredom, child development and the parent–child relationship.
She regularly contributes to public conversations about children and families through writing, expert media commentary, podcasts, radio, television and professional speaking. Her commentary covers topics including parenting, child development, education, children’s behaviour, attachment, early years and psychology, translating psychological evidence into clear and accessible insight for a general audience.
